A long-standing commitment
to being efficient and responsible

Tomorrow, at Michelin, "everything will be sustainable". This is what inspires our Purpose and commits us to seeking a balanced development between People, Profit, and Planet.

Sustainable development and mobility approach

The Movin'On ecosystem, inspired and created by Michelin, makes the Group a facilitator and a "trusted third party" recognized by both public and private-sector stakeholders.

The sustainable development approach was launched in 2002 at the initiative of Édouard Michelin and René Zingraff, and focuses on 12 action themes:
  • 12 action themes:
    • The responsible performance of products, services and solutions

    • The environmental impact of tire use

    • The recovery, reuse and disposal of end-of-life tires

    • Environmental site management

    • Quality of working life at Michelin sites

    • Diversity within the teams

    • The Group's community relations

    • Corporate risk management

    • The Group's contribution to sustainable mobility

    • Supplier relations

    • Logistics' COâ‚‚ emissions

    • Ethics and human rights

Taking up new challenges

In 2013, the Group gave fresh impetus to its approach by defining six Sustainable Development Ambitions for 2020, which were rolled out across the Group. Michelin renewed its commitment:

  • In 2015 at the COP21;
  • In 2021 when it published new Ambitions for 2030.

All Sustainable

The "All Sustainable" vision, in all of its "People, Profit, Planet" dimensions, is at the heart of Michelin's growth strategy. The Group's technological leadership prompts it to take up new challenges in a bid to make a responsible contribution to progress in mobility and anticipate its major developments.
