The MICHELIN Guide Poland 2026 : Four New MICHELIN-Star Restaurants and 92 Additions Announced

  • Poland selection becomes countrywide for the first time, with 92 restaurants joining the Guide this year

  • Four restaurants newly awarded MICHELIN Stars

  • Nineteen restaurants newly awarded a Bib Gourmand for their high-quality cooking and great value for money

Michelin is delighted to reveal the new selection of restaurants for the MICHELIN Guide Poland 2026, which was announced at an exclusive Ceremony held in the ICE Kraków Congress Center. This year’s Guide marks a milestone, as it represents Poland’s first-ever countrywide selection, covering cities and rural areas previously not included in the MICHELIN Guide.

The MICHELIN Guide Poland now recognizes 196 restaurants overall, including four new MICHELIN-Starred restaurants, taking the total number of Starred establishments to 10. Locals and visitors looking for affordable yet high-quality dining will also be delighted by the addition of 19 more Bib Gourmands to the selection.

  • I am delighted to present the MICHELIN Guide’s first-ever countrywide Poland selection, which now showcases the outstanding work of chefs in all regions. Our famously anonymous Inspectors have found a diverse range of restaurants from the city to the countryside, including wine bars, local bistros and stylish spots for a special occasion. The 92 restaurants added to the selection this year demonstrate the depth and breadth of culinary talent here in Poland.

Once again, the Inspectors were impressed by the pace at which Polish cuisine is developing. Younger chefs are pushing the country’s cuisine forward with a passion for local produce alongside the desire to introduce more creative ideas and international flavors. This has always been a country offering great value for money and 19 new Bib Gourmands for 2026 confirm this. Finally, I am thrilled to see four more Polish restaurants achieving MICHELIN-Star status. Congratulations to them and to every establishment in this year’s Guide.

Four Restaurants Newly Awarded One MICHELIN Star

The most exciting news from this year’s announcement is that the number of MICHELIN-Star restaurants in Poland has risen again, with four restaurants newly receiving the distinction.

Steampunk in Pszczyna is particularly notable, as the first Starred restaurant in this year’s newly added regions. Offering a highly memorable experience from top to bottom, Steampunk’s idiosyncratic appeal begins with its location on the eighth floor of a former water tower, then continues inside with its striking steampunk-inspired decor. Yet this is no case of style over substance, with the Inspectors finding Chef Ziemowit Owczarz’s dishes to be technically accomplished and beautifully balanced.

In Warsaw, Alon Omakase has become Poland’s first Japanese MICHELIN-Star restaurant. Offering an authentic and engaging Edomae sushi experience, Chef Alon Than and his team mesmerize diners with their finely tuned crafting and precise knife skills. Their grasp of flavors is just as impressive, with naturally delicious seafood from across the globe enhanced by well-judged seasoning and interesting embellishments. The Inspectors particularly enjoyed the purity of the langoustine nigiri with lime.

Wrocław, only added to the Poland Guide last year, has continued to evolve its dining scene with two more MICHELIN-Star restaurants crowned for 2026. The first, BABA, has progressed from a Bib Gourmand in 2025 to a Star this year, thanks to Chef Beata Śniechowska’s assured reinterpretations of traditional Polish dishes. In a relaxed, buzzy setting, she serves subtly complex dishes that elevate their central ingredients. The signature “Petit Bonbon” take on pierogi was a highlight for the Inspectors.

Also in Wrocław, Most offers an intimate experience tucked away within the Między Mostami brasserie. Chef Łukasz Budzik’s tasting menu gives very little away, with one-word descriptions that belie the craft and invention poured into every mouthful. The basis of the cooking is superb ingredients, which are then brought together in clever and complementary ways with delicious results. The Inspectors particularly enjoyed a dish of porcini mushroom with potato, parmesan and truffle.

There are now 10 restaurants in Poland with One MICHELIN Star, as all of the following have deservedly retained their distinctions: Arco by Paco Pérez in Gdańsk; Giewont in Kościelisko; Muga in Poznań, and NUTA, hub.praga and Rozbrat 20 in Warsaw.

Bottiglieria 1881 Holds Two MICHELIN Stars for Another Year

For the fourth year in a row, Bottiglieria 1881 in Kraków has been recognized with Two MICHELIN Stars, cementing its place as Poland’s finest restaurant. The Inspectors were impressed by the level of refinement and creativity found in the chefs’ boldly flavored and highly original reinventions of classic Polish cuisine, confirming the restaurant’s Two Stars for another year.

Nineteen New Bib Gourmands

In addition to the MICHELIN Stars, 19 new Bib Gourmands have been announced for Poland. Named after Bibendum, the official name of the Michelin Man, the Bib Gourmand is an award for restaurants that offer high-quality cooking at a great price. This year’s new “Bibs” highlight the remarkable value for money to be found in Poland.

Many of the 2026 Bib Gourmands have been awarded in regions added to the Guide for the first time this year. In Białystok, Kwestia Czasu / NAGO offers an intimate vibe and draws inspiration from the Podlaskie forests and Sztuka Chleba i Wina is a bakery, wine shop and bar where you could happily spend a whole day. There’s a similar focus on wine at KRZYWA Sztuka Wina in Katowice, where meats cured in-house are a specialty.

Updated traditional dishes revealing consistently bold flavors are a clear theme in Polish cuisine. For well-priced evidence, head to the newly awarded Farmer & Sons in Skórzewo, The Moment in Kielce or Piernicova in the Torún Old Town.

For cooking that looks beyond Poland’s borders, consider a trip to Rzeszów to eat at Naama, where authentic Moroccan dishes are sure to satisfy. Da Andrea in Olsztyn, meanwhile, is all about Italy and uses some of the country’s finest ingredients, and Acanti in Łódź blends various European cuisines with a Polish base.

This year’s expansion has also uncovered some striking restaurant locations, including Biblioteka, inside a stunning castle gatehouse in Wałbrzych, and 2PiEr perched on the fifth floor of the Lublin Conference Center, with captivating city views.

The Bib Gourmand roster has grown in our existing selections too, with four wallet-friendly restaurants added in Warsaw. Blisko Bar and WIN wine bar & shop both join the trend of wine-led bistros where the quality of the food is a match for the drinks; WANDAL aims to rewrite the rules of Polish cuisine with its creative reinventions; and AHAAN will transport you to Thailand with its fresh, vibrant dishes.

In Kraków, new Bib Gourmands come in the form of Nat Bistro, an endearing spot with a passion for natural wines, and Bufet KRK, the younger sibling of Two-MICHELIN-Star Bottiglieria 1881. Wrocław has a new Bib Gourmand too, Pijalni, where every dish prioritizes flavor over fuss; and finally, Brut Bistro in Gdańsk provides a comforting neighborhood vibe and internationally inspired dishes.

With these 19 new awards, the total number of Bib Gourmands in Poland now stands at an impressive 38.

Eliksir Retains its Green Star

Through their choices, selection of products, respect for seasonality and partnerships with producers, Green Star restaurants provide a glimpse into a different way of cooking and approaching dining. Eliksir in Gdańsk remains Poland's only restaurant in this community.

Special Award Winners Announced

This year, in addition to the new Stars and Bib Gourmands, four Special Awards were presented to exceptional individuals and teams who particularly impressed the MICHELIN Guide Inspectors over the past year.

  • MICHELIN Opening of the Year Award: WANDAL, Warsaw

With a lively atmosphere and a mission statement to “vandalize” traditional Polish food, you could be forgiven for thinking that WANDAL offers a pretty full-on dining experience. In reality, it’s a perfectly pitched affair where the dishes deliver bold yet refined flavors with both a creative streak and a nod to the traditional, such as black pudding dumplings with crayfish XO sauce. A carefully curated wine list and welcoming, knowledgeable service have helped turn this opening into the complete package.

  • MICHELIN Young Chef Award: Ida Malec from Nat Bistro, Kraków

2026 is quite the year for Chef Ida Malec. In running the kitchen at Nat Bistro, she has not just earned the restaurant a Bib Gourmand for its affordable, high-quality cooking, but she has also picked up our Young Chef Award for leading such a successful kitchen so early in her career. An intimate little eatery focused on natural wines, Nat Bistro serves up the kind of seasonal, ingredient-led food our Inspectors love to eat, such as a terrific risotto with Polish porcini and bay bolete mushrooms.

  • MICHELIN Service Award: The team from Babinicz, Szczawno-Zdrój

Even with all the excellent service the Inspectors found across Poland, the team at Babinicz stood out for their natural warmth and charm. Every member of the team plays their role with genuine enthusiasm, whether they are welcoming guests at the door or describing dishes with easy-going confidence. The restaurant’s ethos of using high-quality beef and maturing it on site is explained to each diner with real enthusiasm, showing how much everyone here has bought into the Babinicz approach.

  • MICHELIN Sommelier Award: Dawid Kurlus from Maremma, Poznań

With his gentle, unassuming manner, Dawid Kurlus is the kind of sommelier who quickly puts guests at ease. Having become interested in wine in the past decade, he is now an expert on the subject and here oversees a largely French and Italian list. The Maremma owners import wine and food from Italy and the wine shop at the front of the restaurant is mightily impressive. When faced with a large choice of bottles, Kurlus has the knowledge and the care needed to make spot-on recommendations to match your dishes.
