Following the success of the first edition, L’Échappée MICHELIN Paris–Clermont event is back

· A second edition of the race celebrating inclusion and audacity
· 400km for the community and the regions
· A race rooted in Michelin’s DNA: movement and passion

Following a hugely successful first edition in 2025, l’Échappée MICHELIN Paris–Clermont cycling challenge returns on September 5th and 6th 2026.

An edition celebrating inclusion and audacity

This second edition reasserts the event’s founding spirit: to offer a cycling adventure that is accessible, people-centered and unifying, connecting Paris to Clermont-Ferrand by bike.

Grounded in values of shared commitment and local identity, L’Échappée MICHELIN demonstrates the ability of sport to forge bonds, unite and foster boldness.

Unlike conventional timed races, the event takes the form of a collective and accessible cycling journey, through different formats enabling everyone to take part, irrespective of ability or experience.

This year, special attention has been given to inclusivity and accessibility, to welcome more women riders in particular. Two new formats now enrich the 400km experience

  • A relay format, allowing two teammates to share the ride with a stage in Bourges.

  • A tandem format, perfect for pairs who want to take on the challenge together.

400km for the community and the regions

A major cycling adventure organized in collaboration with local cycling clubs, L’Échappée MICHELIN draws on the associative network to guarantee a spirit of community and human connection from start to finish.
The clubs of Mozac (63) and Brétigny (91) - historic partners of the event - are the beating heart of the 400km race, in a spirit of sharing and solidarity.

One of the race’s highlights will unfold at the Michelin factory in Bourges, which will serve as a pit stop for the intrepid riders and be the handover point for relay teams. The finish line remains open until 8 a.m. the following morning in Place des Carmes, in front of Michelin’s headquarters.

A race rooted in Michelin’s DNA: movement and passion

L’Échappée MICHELIN is a clear expression of the Group’s commitment to sustainable mobility, supporting all of its forms and championing sustainable and accessible innovation.

For this second edition, MICHELIN is once again lending its support as a brand dedicated to promoting sustainable mobility, and a leading player in the revival of the French bicycle tire market.
