Conflict in Ukraine Michelin mobilized to support affected people March 18 2022 Imprimer Michelin is mobilized to help address the humanitarian needs of the people affected by the conflict, inside and outside of Ukraine. Our actions go to help aid the millions of people who have fled Ukraine for neighboring countries, as well as those who have stayed in the country. To date, through the Michelin Corporate Foundation and its sites in Central Europe, Michelin has committed donations, amounting to 1,350,000 € to support local humanitarian organizations, as well as the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. Strong mobilization of the Michelin sites in Hungary, Poland and Romania The Michelin plant in Olsztyn and its Warsaw office, in Poland; its office in Bucharest, as well as its plants in Victoria and Zalau, in Romania; its Nyiregyhaza manufacturing site, its Tuzsér, Vác and Budapest centers, in Hungary, are making and will continue to make significant monetary and in-kind donations to local Red Cross and other organizations. To date, 850,000 euros are being committed to relief efforts through voluntary work and donations, in full cooperation with their local municipalities. Examples include: organizing financial support for refugees through local charities, collecting food and critical need donations, assisting with transitional kindergarten needs, supporting local state fire service for appropriate protection of fire-fighting equipment for transport, and purchasing household goods for temporary accommodation. A strengthened contribution through the Michelin Corporate Foundation’s donation To augment this support at this critical time, the Group, through the Michelin Corporate Foundation, has made an additional financial contribution of 500,000 euros to the Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement. This donation will support the actions of the International Committee of the Red Cross and the Ukrainian Red Cross in meeting water needs, providing basic necessities, medical equipment, first aid and psychosocial support. It will also support Red Cross branches in neighboring countries, which are assisting people leaving Ukraine with shelter, basic aid items and medical supplies. The Group recognizes also the overwhelming display of solidarity among all of its employees, as well as the numerous individual initiatives, that have spontaneously taken shape in recent weeks.
