MotoGP: BMW M2 - Michelin tires on every wheel
For the next MotoGP championship, MICHELIN tires will be on all the competing bikes and on the safety car, as part of our partnership with BMW.
Their role may be to neutralise and slow down the race, but safety cars must be able to drive at high speeds. In certain straight sections of the track, they can reach up to 155 mph. They are competition cars at heart. The model chosen for the MotoGP, the BMW M2, will be equipped with MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires throughout the season. These tires are designed with technologies developed for competitions like the 24 hours Le Mans race. Thanks to Michelin's expert innovations, the tires guarantee grip and maximum precision driving in all situations. MICHELIN Pilot Sport Cup 2 tires can also reach 200 mph in complete safety... A welcome comfort for the little-known safety car drivers!
