The best reputation on the CAC40
Michelin enjoys the best reputation of any CAC40 company, according to the latest study by the Reputation Institute. Michelin is also the only brand to have remained in the top three during the past six editions of this survey of French mass market consumers, confirming its solid reputation.
Since 2017, Michelin has appeared on the FTSE4Good international stock market index, which measures socially responsible companies' performance based on Environmental, Social and Governance (ESG) criteria.
Michelin joined the ASPI Eurozone® stock market index in 2002, based on annual assessments by non-financial ratings agency Vigeo.
Michelin is listed on the four Euronext VigeoEiris SRI indices: World 120, Europe 120, Eurozone 120 and France 20.
With a score of 68/100 in 2018, Michelin is now leader of the Automotive sector (31 companies rated) in terms of "socially responsible management" (considering “ESG” criterias : Environmental, Social, Governance), according to VIGEO EIRIS Corporate Rating. The Group score is up 3 points on the 2017 rating.
Climate change and water management
CDP A List, global leader for its action to combat climate change
Michelin was named as one of the 127 global climate action leaders by the Carbon Disclosure Project, achieving a place on the CDP Climate Change A List published in January. The Group has been hailed for its actions in the last reporting year to cut emissions, mitigate climate risks and develop the low-carbon economy. The annual CDP A-List singles out companies from all parts of the world for their excellent environmental performance. In 2018, the CDP evaluated more than 7,000 companies.
Michelin was recently praised by the CDP for its leadership on supplier and partner engagement. The Group earned a place on the 2019 Supplier Engagement Rating leader board which recognizes organizations worldwide for their work to reduce emissions and factor climate-friendly solutions into their value chains. Over 5,000 companies submitted information to be independently assessed against CDP’s supplier engagement rating methodology. Of the companies that participated in CDP’s supply chain program in 2018, Michelin is among the 3% that was awarded a place on the leader board.
ECOVADIS GOLD CSR Rating: among the top 1% of responsible suppliers in the rubber sector
In November 2018, Michelin obtained an overall score of 78 our of 100 in its EcoVadis CSR rating. This was an improvement on the 2017 score. It scored 80 out of 100 in the Responsible Purchasing category which places the Group among the top 1% of suppliers assessed in the “Manufacture of rubber products” sector.
Michelin was once again listed on the Ethibel PIONEER and Ethibel EXCELLENCE Investment Register indices in 2018. This recognition from the ETHIBEL forum (www.forumethibel.org) showcases the Group's place as the industry leader on Corporate Social Responsibility.
Michelin has also been selected as a constituent of the Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Europe and the Ethibel Sustainability Index (ESI) Excellence Global since 22/03/2019.
