MICHELIN partners the future Jaguar I-Pace eTROPHY

It was officially announced mid-January 2018. Michelin tires will kit out a new 100% electric, zero emission competition: the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY. Organized by Jaguar Racing alongside the 2018/2019 Formula e World Championship, the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY will be the first international competition for standard production cars.

As an opener to the FIA Formula e championship, the ten races in this new season will see up to twenty “competition” versions of the Jaguar I-PACE, all sporting MICHELIN tires.

The British manufacturer will market its first electric car this year.

Drivers who would like to take part in these 30-minute sprints through the most beautiful cities in the world (New York, Paris, Berlin, Mexico, Hong Kong and more) will receive a turnkey package from Jaguar Racing with, amongst other things, logistic and technical support, MICHELIN tires, special television coverage, etc.

On January 11, 2018, at Autosport International in England, Jaguar Racing’s Director James Barclay officially announced the partnership, saying he was delighted to “count on a partner as experienced as Michelin to support the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY”, knowing that Michelin will help “create an inspiring and popular competition. “

For Michelin, this contract continues our commitment to “clean” competitions (Formula e, Moto-e, etc.), racing today for tomorrow’s mobility.

A sentiment confirmed by Competition Division Director, Pascal Couasnon: “We were a Formula e partner from the very outset and we will have a key role in the FIM Moto-e World Cup in 2019. We are therefore thrilled to extend our electric motorsport program to the Jaguar I-PACE eTROPHY and are looking forward to working with Jaguar Racing.”
