Michelin and Carlsson, United in Excellence
Michelin has just signed an agreement with Carlsson, the prestigious car tuner and manufacturer. The German tuner's customers will now benefit from MICHELIN's tire technology.
A strategy focused on ultra high-performance vehicles
This partnership is consistent with Michelin's strategy for ultra high-performance vehicles, which emphasizes driving pleasure, pure sportiness, and performance, along with a constant focus on safety.
The MICHELIN Motorsports division, serving manufacturers and tuners
Carlsson specializes in enhancing the inherent luxury and sporting characteristics of the full Mercedes-Benz range, but also has a history of lifting other more generalist brands, such as Citroën, into the realm of exclusivity.
The performances of Carlsson’s C25 are comparable to those of racecars. This model, which was presented at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, has more than 750 hp and can reach a maximum speed of 325 km/h on the track. It was therefore quite natural that the “Specialty Products” department within the MICHELIN Motorsports division would manage the partnership with Carlsson and the development of specific products.
A supercar for daily use
According to Jim Allekotte, Dynamic Testing Manager for Carlsson, the C25 "is a supercar that you have to be able to drive on a daily basis. Whether seeking driving pleasure on the racetrack or safety on the road, particularly in emergency situations, the feeling you get from the tires is especially important. And during my test runs, I immediately felt confident and at ease with the product, whether with the MICHELIN Pilot Sport 3, Pilot Super Sport, or the Pilot Sport Cup."
Providing Carlsson with MICHELIN's highest level of performance
“It made perfect sense for Michelin to become our tire supplier. We've conducted many tests over the past three years, and MICHELIN tires have always been the ones to offer the highest level of performance. The three MICHELIN tires that we selected are now being used to equip our most powerful models and are offered to all of our customers, regardless of the extent to which their car is tuned,” said Markus Schuster, CEO of Carlsson.
