WORLD ENDURO CHAMPIONSHIP - FOUR DOUBLE FRENCH WINS IN SPAIN!
The World enduro Championship was back in Europe this weekend after its South American trip, and once more the French riders dominates their rivals. Winners in the fourth classes on both days, Antoine Meo and Christophe Nambotin claimed their fifth and sixth consecutive wins in E1 and E3, while Pierre Alexandre Renet and Mathias Bellino won the E2 and Junior classes on their Husaberg Michelin. The Frenchmen are all leading their class, and will arrive in Portugal with the red plate on their bikes.
Already winner of the four previous races, Antoine Meo got another double win, thanks to his teammate Eero Remes who was leading on Sunday when his engine failed. Nicolas Deparrois (Kawasaki Moto Pulsion Michelin) claimed his best result this season with a fifth and a sixth position; on both days he was stronger than the Husqvarna Michelin CH Racing riders. Matti Seistola scored a ninth and a seventh place, Lorenzo Santolino tenth on Saturday retired on Sunday, while Ricky Dietrich stopped his GP experience and is back in his native America.
Third in the standings when he came in Spain, Pierre Alexandre Renet (Husaberg Michelin) had a perfect weekend with a strong double win in the E2 class. He is the new leader of the class, as Ivan Cervantes struggled on his home soil; fellow countryman Victor Guerrero got two podiums results and is now runner up in the standings. Fifth and third Juha Salminen (Husqvarna Michelin CH Racing) is currently fourth in the standings, followed by Johnny Aubert and his teammate Alex Salvini.
Unbeatable in the E3 category, Christophe Nambotin dominates again the class and won both days, followed by David Knight and Joakim Ljunggren (Husaberg Michelin). Third and second the Swedish rider did his best performance of the season and is now third in the standings, while Oriol Mena (Husaberg Michelin) was one of the best Spanish riders for his home GP with a fourth and a fifth positions.
Mathias Bellino (Husaberg Michelin) confirmed with another double win that he is the favorite of the Junior class, but with two runners up positions Jonathan Manzi remains his main rival this season.
