Michelin's Environmental Protection Priorities In 2001, Michelin led a project in cooperation with the European manufacturing profession (represented through the BLIC - the European Association of the Rubber Industry) aimed at measuring environmental impact at different stages of the tire's life cycle. Based on the results, the following conclusion can be made: taking into account the full life cycle of the tire the greatest impact on the environment occurs during actual tire usage.
