In partnership with Michelin, Babolat introduces its first badminton shoe10/29/2009




A French family-owned business for five generations, Babolat is today a global brand specialized in innovative racket sport products. Babolat first joined forces with Michelin in 2003, when the two French companies - both with international operations - transformed the tennis footwear market with the first high-performance shoe featuring an exclusive Michelin sole. Illustrating the success of this amazing partnership, the Propulse shoe is currently worn by US tennis player Andy Roddick and has proven popular in France and other countries.




Building on their winning alliance on the tennis court, Babolat and Michelin have again pooled their expertise to develop a high-performance badminton shoe. There are currently 140,000 licensed badminton players in France and over 100 million worldwide. An Olympic discipline since 1992, badminton traces its origins to 18th century Latin America. It is the most popular sport in French schools.
