After claiming pole position in both the Superbike and Supersport categories at Nogaro on Saturday, Michelin riders harvested additional championship points thanks to second-place finishes in both Superbike contests, plus third place in the Supersport class.
The first race saw Sébastien GIMBERT (BMW Motorrad France Thevent) post the fastest race lap with a time (1m29.075s) on his way to securing second place.
He was even faster during the second race and led from Lap 8 to Lap 13 after recording the fastest race lap on Lap 5 (1m28.790s).
On the final lap, however, the BMW S1000RR rider found himself caught up in traffic and he was forced to settle for second spot: “It’s still a good result and I think I can make up my 20-point deficit because there’s a very long way to go before the end of the championship. We have made good progress since Le Mans and we will continue to work to make our bike/rider/tyre package even more competitive.”
The front row of the grid for the first Supersport race was monopolised by Michelin riders and Matt LAGRIVE (N°94 Yamaha) went on to take the chequered flag in third spot.
The next round will take riders to Le Vigeant, near Poitiers, on May 26-27.
