Indoor Trial World Championship

Even if he claimed the Indoor World Title – renamed this year X Trial – before the final round of the series, Tony Bou (Montesa Honda Michelin) was again too strong for his rivals in Paris where he got his seventh win of the season!

Seven rounds and seven wins, Tony Bou achieved one of his best season and claimed his sixth consecutive title! Injured two weeks ago in Milano, the Spaniard came in Paris Bercy for the first time in his career and had a great motivation for this event. Tony was unbeatable in Bercy, and ended the event with only three marks on his scoreboard, while his closest rival scored twenty one marks! It was the sixteenth consecutive Indoor win for Tony, who was glad to see his teammate back on the podium; third after a strong battle with Fajardo, Takahisa Fujinami celebrated in Paris his third podium of the series and finishes fourth in the standings.

Toni Bou: "It’s been incredible. It was the first time I competed in Paris and wished for nothing better than to win in such an emblematic venue. But it wasn’t just the excitement about winning here, but also to overcome the bad aftertaste of my fall in Milan. I wanted to put that episode behind as soon as possible and I did. Having the world title guaranteed, I competed with no pressure and enjoyed enormously zones that initially did not seem too difficult, but actually were. It’s been a night of celebrations and I’m aware that you can rarely enjoy so much a victory like mine today".

X Trial final standings: 1.Bou (SPA, Montesa Honda Michelin), 140 pts; 2.Cabestany (SPA, Sherco); 3.Raga (SPA, Gas Gas), 84; 4.Fujinami (JAP, Montesa Honda Michelin), 69 ; 5.Fajardo (SPA, Beta), 51; etc….
