- AMF is the Regulatory Authority of the French Stock Exchange, a product of the merger in 2002 between COB (Comité des Opérations de Bourse - Stock Exchange Transactions Committee) and CMF (Conseil des Marchés Financiers - Financial Market Council). AMF dictates the organizational and ethical rules governing the French financial marketplace. It plays a watchdog role in the protection of the investments made in securities and supervises the financial information provided to investors and shareholders. AMF also controls the rating agencies and the financial analyst community.
